Edgar Russ - Sound of Cremona, Marco Dotti, Giuseppe Guarneri "ex David - Heifetz", handcrafted by master luthier Marco Dotti at the Edgar Russ violin workshop in Cremona, built in the pattern of a violin built in 1742 by Guarneri del Gesu which had been pre-owned by Ferdinand David von Leipzig and Jascha Heifetz (among others), spalted spruce top from Val di Fiemme, flamed back made from Bosnian maple, air-dried tonewoods, sides and back made from the same piece of wood as the back, finest ebony fingerboard, the instrument has been varnished in the stayle of the old Italian 17th century masters, primer based on casein and calcium, the laquer has been home-brewn by Edgar Russ using amber and linseed-oil coloured with pigments in order to come as close as possible to the original's appearance, Aubert De Luxe bridge, boxwood pegs, boxwood tailpiece with one fine-adjuster, boxwood endbutton, model "Dresden" chinrest with titanium screws, Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Gold strings.
